Oklahoma Board of Dentistry
The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry is Oklahoma's dental regulatory authority. Its stated mission is to promote, protect, and provide public health and safety to the citizens of Oklahoma by regulating the practice of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, and the fabrication of dental appliances in dental laboratories by enforcing laws, rules, and policies.
The Board is located at 2920 N Lincoln Blvd., Ste B, Oklahoma City, OK 73105. Applications, forms, license verification, and rules updates are available at oklahoma.gov/dentistry.html.
Dental assistant permit requirement: All dental assistants must have a permit before working chairside as of November 1, 2025. Applications are available at oklahoma.gov/dentistry.html.

Fees and license renewal
Oklahoma dental license renewals are managed through the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry. All application fees are non-refundable and must be submitted with the application — no cash is accepted. Licensees are responsible for renewing by the applicable deadline and maintaining current contact information with the Board.
As of July 1, 2025, the Board uses CE Broker (cebroker.com) for licensees to report continuing education. Licensees should ensure their CE is tracked and reported through this system for their renewal cycle.
Current renewal fees, deadlines, and the fee schedule for all credential types are at oklahoma.gov/dentistry.html.
Continuing education requirements
Oklahoma requires licensed dental professionals to complete continuing education as a condition of license renewal. Effective July 1, 2025, the Oklahoma Board of Dentistry uses CE Broker (cebroker.com) as the official system for CE reporting.
The Board sets required CE hours, approved subject areas, and acceptable course formats for each license type. Licensees should confirm their CE activities are reportable through CE Broker before their renewal deadline.
Current CE hour requirements and approved subject areas for your credential type are at oklahoma.gov/dentistry.html and at cebroker.com.
Scope of practice
Oklahoma dental practice law defines the scope of activities authorized for dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and dental laboratory technicians licensed or permitted by the Board. These definitions establish what procedures each credential holder may perform and under what supervision conditions — protecting patients by limiting clinical activities to appropriately credentialed practitioners.
The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry's regulatory scope covers the practice of Dentistry, Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting, and the fabrication of dental appliances in dental laboratories. Expanded function procedures for dental assistants and hygienists require additional authorization from the Board.
Scope of practice rules, supervision requirements, and expanded function authorizations are published at oklahoma.gov/dentistry.html.
Filing a complaint
The Oklahoma Board of Dentistry investigates complaints alleging violations of dental practice laws and Board rules by licensed dental professionals. Complaints may concern substandard care, unprofessional conduct, unlicensed practice, or other regulatory violations.

How to file a complaint
- Download the Complaint Process and Form from the Board's applications and forms page.
- Complete the complaint packet and submit it to the Board per the instructions provided.
- The Board reviews each matter and may conduct a formal investigation, request records, and schedule a hearing when the evidence supports it.
