About the New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care
The New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care oversees the practice of dentistry, dental hygiene, dental assisting, expanded function dental auxiliary, and community dental health coordinator (CDHC) in New Mexico. The Board operates within the state's Regulation and Licensing Department (RLD) and sets professional and educational standards for obtaining and maintaining licenses. New Mexico Dental Licensing
The New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care licenses the following dental professions in New Mexico:
- Dentist
- Dental Hygienist
- Dental Assistant
- Expanded Function Dental Auxiliary (EFDA)
- Community Dental Health Coordinator (CDHC)
All license applications, renewals, and status changes are managed through the RLD online licensing portal (nmrldlpi.my.site.com). The portal allows you to apply for a new license, renew an existing one, or request an official license verification.

How to Apply for a New Mexico Dental License
New Mexico dental license applications are submitted through the RLD online portal at nmrldlpi.my.site.com.
- New applicants: Create an account via "Self Register," then apply for a new license
- Existing licensees: Log in with your username and password to apply for renewal
- License Verification: If you hold or held a New Mexico license and need an official verification sent to another state, use the Request a License Verification tool
- License List: To purchase a roster of licensed individuals by profession, use the Licensee List Request

License Fees and Renewal
License renewal is handled through the RLD portal at nmrldlpi.my.site.com. Log in with your existing credentials to access the renewal workflow. Licensees requiring a verification of licensure for another state should use the License Verification Request tool on the portal.

Continuing Education Requirements
The New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care sets CE standards as part of the license renewal process. CE must be completed in the period preceding license expiration. Filing a Complaint Against a New Mexico Dentist
The New Mexico Board of Dental Health Care investigates complaints from the public about unprofessional or unethical conduct and takes disciplinary action when required. Complaints are filed directly through the RLD online portal.
