Pennsylvania Dental Association

The Pennsylvania Dental Association (PDA), organized in 1868, is the professional membership association representing dentists across the Commonwealth and an affiliate of the American Dental Association. Its stated mission — drawn from Resolution HD-84-30 — is "to serve the public, improve their health, promote the art and science of dentistry and represent the interests of its members and the people they serve."

PDA membership includes:

• Legislative advocacy — PDA tracks and develops positions on State Board of Dentistry rulemaking and state legislation, attends every Board meeting, and participates in federal advocacy through the ADA Dentist and Student Lobby Day in Washington, D.C.
• Continuing education — in-person and online CE programming held throughout the state, plus PDA's Annual Session, a major CE and networking event.
• Publications — the Pennsylvania Dental Journal, PDA's official publication, keeps members current on proposed Board regulations and legislation.
• Community service — PDA organizes MOM-n-PA (Missions of Mercy in Pennsylvania), a free annual dental-care event; the 13th annual event was held in Allentown in May 2026, serving patients who otherwise lack access to regular dental care.
