Alaska Dental License Renewal

Alaska dental and dental hygiene licenses are issued for a two-year term and expire on February 28 of odd-numbered years, regardless of issue date — except that licenses issued within 90 days of an expiration date roll forward to the next biennial expiration. Renewals are processed through the Division of Corporations, Business, and Professional Licensing (CBPL), either online through the MY LICENSE self-service portal or by paper application.

Biennial renewal fees

Licensees who hold a moderate/minimal sedation or deep sedation/general anesthesia permit, an advanced practice permit, or a restorative function endorsement must renew each of those separately using its own renewal form. Checks and money orders must be made payable to the "State of Alaska"; the division does not accept faxed or emailed renewal applications. Plan on 4–6 weeks of processing time for a correct, complete renewal.

If an application is abandoned after 12 months of inactivity, the license and other fees paid may be refunded on written request submitted within 30 days of the abandonment notice; the application fee itself is never refunded (12 AAC 02.910).
