Contact details and membership information for the professional dental association serving dentists in Florida.

The Florida Dental Association (FDA) is the statewide professional membership organization for Florida-licensed dentists. Founded in 1884 by 12 dentists, the FDA is a constituent society of the American Dental Association and now represents more than 8,000 member dentists through six district dental associations: the Atlantic Coast, Central Florida, Northeast, Northwest, South Florida, and West Coast District Dental Associations.

The FDA describes its structure as a "power of three" tripartite system: the American Dental Association provides national research, publications, and federal advocacy; the FDA provides insurance and legal counsel, legislative advocacy, and statewide continuing education; and each local district association provides patient referrals, peer review counseling, and networking events.

FDA programs

  • Legislative advocacy — the FDA tracks and lobbies on bills affecting dentistry through its Legislative Action Center and FDAPAC political action committee.
  • Jumpstart — connects pre-dental student volunteers with dental offices that need staffing help.
  • Radiography training — online radiography training and certification for dental assistants.
  • FDA Services — a dental insurance organization built by the FDA for member practices.
  • Convention & CE — the Florida Dental Convention (FDC) offers continuing education and networking; the 2027 convention, "Uniting Dentistry's All Stars," is scheduled for June 24–26, 2027 in Orlando.
