Illinois Dental License Renewal

Fees, deadlines, and what's required to renew a dental license in Illinois.

Illinois dental license fees are set by rule at 68 Ill. Admin. Code § 1220.415 and are non-refundable. Dentists, dental specialists, and dental hygienists renew on a 3-year (triennial) cycle, with all licenses expiring on September 30 of the renewal year.

General fees

  • License restoration (other than from inactive status): $50.00 plus all lapsed renewal fees
  • Duplicate, replacement, or name/address-change license (outside renewal period): $20.00
  • Certification of a licensee's record: $20.00
  • Exam score review/verification: $20.00, plus any fee charged by the testing service
