The Tennessee Dental Association (TDA), founded in 1867, is the professional membership organization for Tennessee dentists and a constituent society of the American Dental Association - every TDA member is automatically an ADA member. The TDA is a separate organization from the Board of Dentistry and plays no role in licensing or discipline. Nine local dental societies operate under the TDA across the state, from the First District Dental Society in Northeast Tennessee to the Memphis Dental Society.
Member programs
- Advocacy - the TDA represents dentistry before the state legislature and the Board through its Action Center, an annual Dentists' Day on the Hill event, and the Tennessee Dental PAC.
- Continuing education - TDA CE on-demand and live webinars, plus its signature annual Music City Dental Conference in Nashville.
- Practice support - the TDA Insurance Agency, TDA Career Center, wellness resources, and a peer review program that can mediate disputes between patients and dentists.
- TDA Foundation and Relief Fund - charitable and member-assistance programs.
