Maine dental license and permit fees are set by Board Rule Chapter 7 under the authority of 32 M.R.S. §§ 18323(3) and 18324. Most licenses and authorities run on a 2-year (biennial) term; EFDA licenses run on a 5-year term from the date of issue.

Application, late renewal, and other fees
- Initial application fee: $100.00 for dentists and dentist permits; $50.00 for dental hygienists, hygiene authorities, denturists, EFDAs, radiographers, and registrations; $100.00 for the 14-day notification form
- Late renewal (within 90 days of expiration): $100.00 for dentists/permits, $50.00 for hygienists, denturists, EFDAs, and radiographers
- Reinstatement (91 days to 2 years after expiration): equal to the initial licensure fee for the credential, and the applicant must meet all initial-licensure qualifications
- Duplicate license: $25.00 | License verification: $25.00 | Licensee data list: $75.00
Renewal notices are emailed to the address on file at least 60 days before expiration. Licensees must notify the Board in writing of any address or name change within 10 days.
