Oregon Dental License Renewal

Fees, deadlines, and what's required to renew a dental license in Oregon.
Oregon dental licenses renew every two years (biennially) through the Board's online portal at online.oregondentistry.org. Current fees were set by permanent rule filing OBD 2-2025 (OAR 818-001-0087), effective December 1, 2025, following the Legislature's approval of the Board's 2025–2027 budget.

Anesthesia and other permit fees
- Nitrous Oxide Permit: $40.00
- Minimal Sedation Permit: $75.00
- Moderate Sedation Permit: $200.00
- Deep Sedation Permit: $400.00
- General Anesthesia Permit: $400.00
- Dental Hygiene Expanded Practice Permit: $75.00
- Restorative Functions, EFDA, EFODA, and Anesthesia Dental Assistant certifications: $50.00 each
Late renewal and reinstatement (OAR 818-021-0085)

| More than 1 year, less than 4 years | $250.00 | Pay back renewal fees owed and a $500.00 reinstatement fee, pass the jurisprudence exam, and submit good-standing verification from every state where currently licensed |
A license expired more than four years cannot be reinstated — the holder must apply for licensure under the Board's current rules and statutes. Licensees may not practice with an expired license, even while renewal paperwork is pending.
