Vermont dental licenses run on a fixed 2-year renewal cycle — unlike a birthday-based cycle, every license in a given profession expires on the same statewide date. For the Dental profession, that date is September 30 of odd-numbered years. Renewal applications open six weeks before expiration and are submitted through the OPR Online Services portal.

Under OPR's 90-Day Initial Licensing Policy, an initial license issued 90 days or less before the profession's renewal date is granted through the next full 2-year period at no extra charge; one issued 91 or more days before the renewal date must renew at the upcoming cycle like any other license.
